Square Enix has announced that the strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle will be released in September.

The DioField Chronicle is now available to pre-order on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam ahead of its confirmed September 22 release date. Physical pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch edition are available, but digital pre-orders will go live closer to launch.

Square Enix has also announced that a demo featuring the game’s opening section will come to all platforms on August 10, 2022. Save data from the demo will carry over to the full release at launch.

The DioField Chronicle features an impressive lineup of behind-the-scenes talent, including character designs by Taiki, art from Isamu Kamikokuryo, and music from Game of Thrones composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell.

It’s also another visually impressive effort from Square Enix. It builds upon the HD-2D visuals of Triangle Strategy and Octopath Traveler with a distinctive diorama style. And looks aside, we’re intrigued by the game’s Real Time Tactical Battle (RTTB) system.

Take a look at the game’s new release date trailer.

The DioField Chronicle Collector’s Edition Set is also available for pre-order from Square Enix Store. It comes bundled with a copy of the game, a  board game, and a pin set.
