The first beta phase for Rugby 20 begins today, with the full game to follow in early 2020.

Access to the Ruby 20 beta is available today for all players who pre-order the game on the PlayStation Store or Xbox One digital games store. The first beta phase ends on October 17 and will be immediately followed by a second phase that runs until early November. A third phase will take place before the release of the full game on January 23, 2020.

Rugby 20 is the belated follow-up to Rugby 18, which we called ‘the best rugby game in 20 years.‘ For the new release, developer Eko Software is promising a focus on simulation with players experiencing all aspects of the modern game. Improvements include tactical changes, attacking pods, set plays, and improved opponent AI. New motion-captured animations and player models should also enhance the on-field experience.

Take a look at the new Rugby 20 trailer to see the game in action.

The beta features 20 national teams, an international tournament mode, online multiplayer, and CPU and PvP quick matches. During the beta, Eko Software is seeking feedback from players via the game’s official Facebook page.

Rugby 20 will be available on January 23, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
