Following the successful launch of its fifth mainline entry, publisher Koei Tecmo reveals that the Samurai Warriors franchise has passed another impressive sales milestone.
Omega Force’s venerable Musou series isn’t to everyone’s taste – our included, unfortunately – but 17 years after the first Samurai Warriors game was released on PlayStation 2, the franchise appears to be in rude health.
Koei Tecmo has announced via Twitter that the series has now surpassed eight million copies sold worldwide.

Samurai Warriors 5 – which serves as a reboot for the series – was released last month on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch to mostly positive reviews.
