We all expected Severed would come to iOS, and now it is.
An iOS release for Severed always seemed a given, despite its PS Vita focused launch. In fact, it was touted as an iPhone title early in development when DrinkBox were interviewed by Edge magazine. But a 3DS and Wii U port? That’s kind of unexpected, and very welcome. As is the fact that the game will be cross-buy on Nintendo’s consoles.
Severed places you in the role of one-armed warrior Sasha, who explores and fights through a vibrant world using a variety of swipe-based gestures. We played the PS Vita version at GDC and enjoyed its beautiful aesthetics and gruesome, tactile combat.
Graham Smith, co-founder of Drinkbox Studios said:
“We’re very pleased to be able to bring Severed to major touch-enabled platforms. The game’s recent release on the Vita was well-received by critics and fans alike, and we look forward to bringing the experience to Apple and Nintendo fans.”
Severed is scheduled for release this Summer on iOS, Wii U and DS.
