Marvel’s Spider-Man – AKA the photo mode with a game attached, if social media is to be believed – is still proving rather popular.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is still top of the UK charts, while Lara Croft’s latest adventure, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, is still holding in second place.
Insomniac’s web-slinger is going great guns worldwide, too, and has overtaken God of War’s record for the fastest-selling first-party Sony title, with over 3.3 million copies shifted in the first three days alone. It’s good news for the game which has DLC coming later in the year, and could well be the start of a trilogy or franchise based on its success.
Elsewhere in the charts, it’s littered with the usual suspects. Grand Theft Auto V, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and the Xbox One version of PUBG maintain their foothold in the top ten – insert some platitudes about their remarkable longevity here – while two versions of Minecraft, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Breath of the Wild, Rainbow Six Siege, and the aforementioned God of War cling onto the bottom half of the top 20.
We’ll see you again next week, when we’ll probably list all of the same games again (plus Forza Horizon).
