Nintendo Switch Target promotion

Target are giving away a $25 gift card with every Nintendo Switch console purchased this week.

Nintendo Switch hardware deals are thankfully becoming a little more common as we move into the third year of the console’s life. Pack-in games and hardware discounts are especially welcome when you consider that an SD card, Pro-Controller, or extra Joy-Con set are almost a necessity. Oh, and don’t forget the carry case, or an extra dock, or another charger.

Perhaps the best thing to sweeten the pill is just a little more cash to play with, and that’s what the new Target promotion is offering.

Every Nintendo Switch console purchased via the Target website until May 25, 2019 will include a $25 gift card. The card – which can be redeemed against any other stocked product – is currently available with the following console SKUs.

Target Nintendo Switch $25 gift card offer

  • Console – with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Cons– $299
  • Console – with Grey Joy-Cons – $299
  • Pikachu & Eevee Edition with Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! Bundle – $399

Annoyingly, the gift card can’t be used at the time of purchase and will be shipped separately. Our recommendation is to put it towards an SD card to fill up with the constant onslaught of Nintendo eShop releases. The SanDisk Ultra Plus 64GB microSD Memory Card is currently available on the Target site for $16.99, and the 128GB version is priced at $29.99.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
