The Outer Worlds, a Best Narrative nominee at The Game Awards, will get more narrative DLC next year.

While The Outer Worlds didn’t break much new ground, Obsidian’s Fallout: New Vegas successor is still really great. And, if you missed it, you may have good reason to check it out in the new year.

On Friday, one day after the RPG left The Game Awards empty-handed, social media manager Shyla Lane Schofield took to the Obsidian forums with an official message from the studio.

Schofield thanked fans for their support and announced that the team would be “expanding the story through DLC next year.”

There are multiple unused planets on The Outer Worlds galaxy map, so this announcement makes a lot of sense. Above all, I would love to visit Hephaestus.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
