This weekend’s Xbox Free Play Days titles are all about war, combat, and tactics.
The headline act is Sega’s acclaimed Valkyria Chronicles 4. The 2018 game is a stunning return to form for a franchise that blends turn-based strategy, role-playing, and first-person gunplay. The hand-drawn signature visuals have never looked better, and the story is a literal blast.
For Honor also makes an Xbox Free Play Days return. The 2017 art of war extravaganza has been well supported by publisher Ubisoft, with three years of paid content and numerous free updates. It’s a crunchy combat game that will likely benefit from new players entering the fray like lambs to the slaughter. Have fun!
Both games are free to play for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers until midnight on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
