Bloodroot and F1 2021 headline this week’s list of new Xbox releases.

There isn’t a stellar lineup of new releases coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One this week, but it’s good to see Microsoft’s console get some games we’ve previously enjoyed on other platforms.

Paper Cult’s Bloodroot is the highlight. It’s a top-down action game in the vein of Hotline Miami set in a twisted version of the Wild West. The animations and cartoon art style pop from the screen, and the endless stream of bloody violence is satisfying from start to finish. The game is also one of this month’s Xbox Game pass titles.

Another Xbox Game Pass release – and a timed exclusive no less – is Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game. Early reports indicate that it’s not very good. But, if you’re excited by the upcoming team-up of LeBron James and Bugs Bunny, you might eke out a little fun from this retro-style beat ’em up.

Another notable release is F1 2021. This year’s racing simulation from Codemasters is the first since the studio was acquired by Electronic Arts.

Other new Xbox releases include the excellent Blaster Master Zero 2, and puzzle actioner, Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials.

Here’s the full lineup of new games. We’ll update this post with any late additions throughout the week.
