Dark Light

This week’s Xbox Free Play Days games are an acclaimed first-person shooter, a second gear racer, and a third-person MMORPG.

OK, that introduction is a stretch. Please forgive me.

Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now play three more games for free for a limited time.

Topping the list is Battlefield V, the ambitious Second World War FPS from Dice. If your perception of the game is tied to its lacklustre 2018 launch, it’s probably worth revisiting. Two years of updates have fixed an array of issues and added a wealth of content.

Next, it’s Assetto Corsa Competizione from Kunos Simulazioni. This 2018 racer is not considered one of the genre’s top-tier games, but if you want to “experience the real atmosphere of the GT3 homologated championship”, it’s definitely one to try.

Finally, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited gets another extended free play period. The complete game is free, including the acclaimed Gates of Oblivion prologue quest.

All save progress and achievements carry over to purchased copies of each game. Battlefield V and Assetto Corsa Competizione are free to play until midnight on Sunday. The Elder Scrolls Online is free until August 30, 2021.

If you want to add any of these games to your permanent game collection, some limited-time discounts are available.
