Nintendo confirms the two NES games coming to Nintendo Switch Online in August 2019.
The first of this month’s NES releases for the Switch is Aicom’s late-period action game, Vice: Project Doom. Released in 1991, Vice: Project Doom is a mix of driving, shooting, and platforming that thoughtfully explores the topics of drug smuggling and alien infiltration.
August’s second NES game is Kung-Fu Heroes, a bonkers looking wave-based beat ’em up from Culture Brain. In truth we’d have rather had this month’s Japan-exclusive release, Technos’ Nekketsu Sports Challenge. Fortunately, if you set up a Japanese Nintendo account you can download the Famicom app via the Nintendo eShop for free.
Both NES games will be available to download from August 21, 2019. Read our guide for the full list of available NES games.
Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions run for one, three or 12 months. Family memberships are also available that let up to seven family members access on the same account.
