Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can download and play another two games for free this weekend, and they couldn’t be more different.
The Sims 4 needs little introduction and celebrates its seventh anniversary later this year, but the game’s playing community is as strong as ever, and EA continues to support it with new content. If you are curious about the game but daunted by how engrossing it might be, a full weekend is more than enough time to assess if it’s a good fit.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, meanwhile, is a game built around short, sharp play sessions. This colourful mash-up of two puzzle classics is addictive, inventive, and deliciously chaotic. The free-play event comes just in time to experience the latest content expansion that adds Serilly, Rafisol, Strange Klug, and Yu & Rei as playable characters.
Both titles are free to play for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members until midnight on February 7, 2021. As always, any achievements and game progress will carry over to purchased copies. Here are some timely discounts to tempt you.

We hate to ask
Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. But it's difficult to make ends meet in online publishing at the moment, so if you'd like to help us continue our work, you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.
