Rainbow Six Extraction will join Xbox Game Pass on release day. Ubisoft+ is also coming to Xbox consoles later this year.

Upcoming multiplayer co-op shooter Rainbow Six Extraction will join Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on release day.

First announced as Rainbow Six Quarantine at E3 2019, Ubisoft’s new game is a 1-3 player co-op PvE FPS in which players must battle a deadly alien species called the Archaens. Players can choose from 18 operators, each offering unique gadgets and weapons.

Extraterrestrial threats are not typical Tom Clancy business, so it will be interesting to see how the game – which is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal – shapes up. Game Pass members can find out on January 20, 2022.

The news comes alongside confirmation that the Ubisoft+ game subscription platform will also be available on Xbox later this year. Ubisoft+ is currently available on Amazon Luna, PC, and Stadia and gives subscribers access to 100 new and back-catalogue games, plus DLC and other benefits.

Speaking about the annoucements, Ubisoft’s SVP of strategic partnerships, Chris Early, says:

“Rainbow Six Extraction for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members is just the beginning. Ultimately, we will offer the Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox owners so that they can enjoy the full extent of our Ubisoft+ game library, including new releases, on their consoles.”

There’s lovely.
