Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania headlines this week’s lineup of new video game releases for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Our pick of this week’s new releases is, in fact, DLC for one of the most enduring games of the last five years. Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania takes players back to Dracula’s iconic castle in a new collaboration that combines Motion Twin’s rogue-lite favourite with the characters and locations of Konami’s beloved Castlevania series.

It’s another generous expansion that features two new levels, three bosses, 14 weapons, 20 outfits, a new storyline, and 51 original music tracks. 12 classic tunes – including Vampire Killer and Simon Belmont’s Theme – have also been reworked in the Dead Cells style by composer Yoann Laulan.

The long-awaited remaster of cult Nintendo Wii game Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse also creeps onto consoles this week. The survival horror is released in the West for the first time with updated graphics and new unlockable costumes. In Europe, the game will once again have the title Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.

And speaking of remasters, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition lands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with improved graphics, lighting, haptics, and load times.

This week’s other new video game releases include Pronty, DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, and Tiny Troopers: Global Ops.
