Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Bayonetta 3 are among this week’s new video game releases for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
This week’s big Xbox and PlayStation release is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The game’s campaign follows the exploits of Task Force 141 and continues the story of 2019’s well-liked Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Day one multiplayer includes 10 traditional modes, two Ground War modes and Activision’s promise of more to come.
Nintendo Switch exclusive Bayonetta 3 arrives following years of fan anticipation and a few weeks of drama highlighting the uncertain nature of the voice acting profession. We wondered if Bayonetta 3 would be a success, even before the recent commotion. Our prediction is another sublime action game that critics adore, and relatively few people buy.
Elsewhere, Resident Evil Re:Verse is Capcom’s new online multiplayer extravaganza that pits two to six players against a range of familiar foes. Frankly, it doesn’t look great, but we can’t grumble too much as it’s free for owners of Resident Evil Village, which also receives some new story content this week.
Other new video game releases coming to console include Arkanoid – Eternal Battle, Star Ocean The Divine Force, Bones of Halloween, and Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx.
