Everyone who votes in the 2018 Golden Joystick Awards will also receive a free ebook worth £15.99!

The Golden Joystick Awards – run by media giant and parent company of PC Gamer, GamesMaster, Retro Gamer, and more – is in its 36th year. This year, sponsored by silicon giant AMD, the Golden Joysticks have 17 categories.

16 of the awards are open to the public vote right now, and will remain open until October 25th, 2018. Here’s the full list of categories:

  • Best Audio
  • Best Indie Game
  • Best Competitive Game
  • Best Cooperative Game
  • Still Playing
  • Esports Game of the Year
  • Best VR Game
  • Studio of the Year
  • Mobile Game of the Year
  • Nintendo Game of the Year
  • PlayStation Game of the Year
  • PC Game of the Year
  • Xbox Game of the Year
  • Most Wanted Game

There is a 17th category, the Ultimate Game of the Year award, which runs on a different schedule. Voting for that one opens on the October 26th and runs through until November 2nd.

If you head on over to the official site and vote in the main voting phase – not the Ultimate Game of the Year – then you’ll also receive a free gift, an ebook with up to £15.99. You’ll get to choose from Retro Gamer Annual Vol. 4, Minecraft Vol. 17, PC Gamer Annual 2018, or the T3 Buyer’s Guide, and you’ll receive instructions to claim your freebie via email after casting your vote.

The 2018 Golden Joystick Awards will take place on November 16th, 2018, from London’s Bloomsbury Big Top. The awards will again be presented by Dave Gorman’s mate the voice of the rectangles writer and comedian Danny Wallace, and they’ll be streamed live to viewers around the world.
