After getting a run-out on PS4 a few years ago, Wonder Boy Returns Remix is getting a limited edition, physical release on Nintendo Switch.

Following hot on the heels of Wonder Boy Collection, Strictly Limited Games has today announced that Wonder Boy Returns Remix – the gentle remaster of the 1986 original and first game in the brilliant arcade and console series – will receive a limited physical release on Nintendo Switch.

The base and collector’s editions of Wonder Boy Returns saw a limited-run release on PS4 back in early 2019, before the digital-only Nintendo Switch release of Wonder Boy Returns Remix in May of that year.

We’re not sure why it’s taken quite so long, but it makes sense that the Nintendo Switch version is also getting a physical release.

The “base” physical edition of Wonder Boy Returns Remix will be limited to 3000 copies, and will retail for €29.99 (around £25 / USD $33).

There will also be a collector’s edition of Wonder Boy Returns Remix, featuring the following extra stuff:

  • Collector’s Edition Box
  • Tom-Tom Keychain
  • Stylish Tote Bag
  • Postcard Set of 2
  • Reversible Artwork Poster
  • Character Sticker Sheet
  • Original Soundtrack CD
  • A colorful manual

No, not that Tim Horton. That would be weird. I've never even been to Canada. And I'm pretty sure he's dead? This Tim Horton is a freelance writer and lover of indie games. Painfully shy, powerfully awkward, you won't find me on social media.
