Microsoft has confirmed that four classic Xbox 360 games have received enhancements on Xbox One X, the most powerful and super-duper console ever made.

The four titles are Forza Horizon, Fable Anniversary, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and Crackdown. All excellent choices, and much-loved games from the last console generation. They join a growing lineup of Xbox One X enhanced games that also includes Halo 3, Fallout 3, Gears of War 3 and Skate 3. (We picked out all the 3 games, there.)

The Xbox One X enhancements mean that each game runs at 4K resolution with nine times the original pixel count. Other benefits include improved texture detailing, and antialiasing. If you’re not too keen on the output – although in our experience we’ve found it to be rather impressive – you can switch it off in the Settings menu of the Xbox Guide. This may give a slight performance bump, although the visual fidelity will be closer to the standard back-compat output found on the standard Xbox One and S models.
