Games from the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises are among the latest crop of Xbox Deals with Gold savings.
All eyes are on next-gen this week, but there’s plenty of fun to had with the outgoing console generation. There are two excellent sales on the PlayStation Store this week, and the latest Xbox Deals with Gold savings are moderately above average, just about.
One of the big new releases this week is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The reviews are positive, but it is another sprawling game filled to bursting with side quests and busywork. If you like your Assassin’s Creed games to be a little more focused, we recommend trying the oft-overlooked Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The remastered Xbox One version gives this galloping adventure a welcome visual polish, but it’s the memorable characters, thrilling mission design, and good-guy-goes-bad storyline that make it stand out. The game is reduced by 67% as part of this week’s Deals with Gold lineup.
Other Ubisoft titles to be reduced include the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy and a clutch of Far Cry adventures.
This week’s Spotlight selection is lacking in big-name games. 2D platformer Evergate looks pretty (and not like Hollow Knight at all, oh no) and if you pine for living in a totalitarian state, you might want to try Warm Lamp’s cheery surveillance game, Beholder.
