Afterparty and the return of Super Monkey Ball top next week’s lineup of new Xbox One releases.

There’s a relatively quiet week ahead on the Xbox One, but there are few interesting new games to consider. First up is Afterparty, the new game from Night School Studio. We aren’t the biggest fans of the acclaimed Oxenfree, but its dialogue system is certainly impressive, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the studio can do with something a little more off-beat.

Remaster of the week is Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD from Sega. The Nintendo Wii original is not the best the series has to offer – the first GameCube game holds that honour – but it’s nice to see AiAi and chums resplendent in high-definition. There’s a guest appearance from Sonic the Hedgehog this time around, too.

We also want to give a mention to Jalopy, a curious game in which players must refuel and drive a dilapidated Laika 601 Deluxe on a journey through the former Eastern bloc. It was cult hit on its original PC release and gave our man Josh Wise food for thought.

Other new releases include Close to the Sun and Citadel: Forged with Fire. Each game can be purchased from the Xbox digital store and Microsoft online store. Here is next week’s full release lineup.
