FIFA 21 and The Survivalists headline this week’s list of new Xbox One releases.

EA’s football behemoth returns this week with FIFA 21. As ever, there’s a shopping list of improvements and new features, most intriguing of which is the revamped Career Mode. New simulation elements let players take greater control of mid-game tactics, shape player development, and improve player attributes using the new Active Training System. On the pitch, you can look forward to improved opponent AI, dribbling, collision detection, and off-the-ball positioning. EA Access members can play the game from Tuesday, and the rest of us can take to the field on Friday.

Our second highlight is Team17’s The Survivalists. This spin-off off from the popular Escapists series sees players stranded on a procedurally generated island. The blend of exploration, crafting, and building is familiar enough, but the studio’s off-kilter sense of humour and eye for detail should make the game stand out a crowded genre.

Other new relases include Ministry of Broadcast, 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil, and The Watchmaker.

Each new game can be purchased from the Xbox One digital games store or the Microsoft web store. We’ll update this post throughout the week with any late additions to the lineup.
