Dark Light

Aliens: Fireteam Elite, King’s Bounty II, and Psychonauts 2 top a good week for new Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One releases.

A busy week on the Xbox digital games store sees the release of several promising titles.

The headliner is Aliens: Fireteam Elite from Cold Iron Studio. We don’t expect the game to live up to the expertly crafted chills of Alien: Isolation, but we hope it delivers the Xenomorph-blasting action experience the IP deserves. More than 11 Xenomorph types are included, along with various Weyland-Yutani Synthetics ready and willing to soak up bullets. We’ll have a review for you soon.

Elsewhere, Raz and friends return in the long-awaited Psychonauts 2. Fans of the series should be well served with another comic and inventive action-adventure from the always reliable Double Fine Productions.

An even longer-awaited new Xbox release is Kings Bounty II. The turn-based tactical RPG from 1C Entertainment is a direct sequel to the 1990 original and features modern combat mechanics and new exploration features.

Oh, and Myst is getting yet another reissue.

Here’s the complete list of new Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One releases. We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late arrivals.
