New Xbox One game releases

Battlefield 2042 and Nerf Legends are among the new video games coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Battlefield 2042 is one of EA’s big fall releases and arrives following much bluster around its customisable Portal mode and next-gen credentials. The lack of voice chat at launch is unfortunate – and won’t help players trying the tactically-oriented Hazard Zone mode – but Battlefield 2042 looks like a much better option than Call of Duty: Vanguard for numerous reasons.

And if you’re looking for a more family-friendly FPS pastime, Nerf Legends – a game with a serious crush on Overwatch – also looks like energetic and colourful fun. (We’re not joking!)

Other new Xbox releases include Fae Tactics, Surviving the Aftermath, and action-adventure remaster BloodRayne: ReVamped. Here’s the complete list of new games.

We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late additions.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
