Developer Rebellion has announced that Strange Brigade, its 1930s serial-style co-op shooter, will launches this August on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Rebellion first revealed the game at last year’s E3, with a wonderful trailer that made the game’s vibe immediately clear.

Strange Brigade features teams of up to four players exploring dig sites and mysterious ruins, fighting monsters, and solving puzzles.

Check out the new trailer:

Rebellion is an independent studio with a flair for the pulpy. You need look no further than Sniper Elite 4 for proof of the developer’s skill at making satisfying shooters with pulpy over the top thrills.

The premise is described is suitably daft detail on the official website:

“Egypt, the 1930’s. Erased from ancient history and buried in a nameless tomb for 4,000 years, Seteki the Witch Queen has risen once again.

Only one troop of daring heroes can stand against the fearsome power of Seteki and her army of mummified monstrosities: The Strange Brigade!”

Strange Brigade is scheduled to release on August 28th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
