Benjamin Rivers’ existential sci-fi adventure game, Alone With You, is getting a PC release next month.
Following on from its PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release in September last year, narrative-driven adventure game, Alone With You, will be released on PC via Steam on 9th February, 2017.
In Alone With You the player is cast as the sole survivor of a doomed space colony. As the truth behind the colony’s demise is uncovered, the player also forges relationships with holographic simulations of its deceased colonists and its troubled AI.
Alone With You is a game that mixes traditional puzzle solving and exploration with an intriguing sense of solitude and domesticity. In our review we were impressed with the game’s tone and cast of nuanced characters.
Benjamin Rivers, who was also behind the indie horror game Home, said:
“Since launching on PlayStation we’ve enjoyed watching players connect emotionally with Alone With You’s characters, story and existential themes through their various playthroughs. We can’t wait to bring this experience to a wider audience with the PC launch and see how players contemplate the difficult decisions they face within the game. Will they feel affection, admiration or even guilt for someone who is just data?”
Alone with You will be priced at $9.99 USD and during the game’s launch week it will also receive a 15 percent discount.
We have a favour to ask
Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
