Nintendo Switch exclusive Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes residence at the top of the UK video games chart with huge first-week sales.

The critically acclaimed Animal Crossing: New Horizons has topped the Ukie/GfK UK games chart in its first week. According to GamesIndustry.biz the game’s launch is 3.5 times bigger than 2012’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS, which went on to sell over 12 million copies.

The rest of the chart is full of familiar faces, with the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Grand Theft Auto V, and Forza Horizon 4 all jostling for position.
