Microsoft would very much like you to purchase an Xbox One X, and as a sweetener, they’ll chuck in the biggest Xbox One console exclusive we’ve seen in years.

The Xbox One X is rather powerful, and – compared to other consoles – quite expensive. That’s not to say it’s a bad deal, though; we tried to put together a 4K, console-sized gaming PC build, and it came out way more expensive. Horses for courses, and all that.

In order to sweeten the deal, however, if you purchase an Xbox One X between February 18th and February 24th, 2018, you’ll get a free copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The PUBG port to the OG Xbox One/Xbox One S hasn’t been entirely without issues. Performance hasn’t been exemplary. In fact, it’s been pretty poor, with some textures not streaming in until way into the round. But on the more powerful Microsoft console, PUBG runs better.

So if you have been holding fire on picking up an Xbox One X – possibly because of the price, or the perceived lack of Xbox exclusives – then the addition of a free copy of PUBG might just solve both those issues.

Quite why the window for this offer is so short is anyone’s guess, but if you take Microsoft up on their offer, we’ll see you on the Battlegrounds.
