Dark Light

Call of Cthulhu, the upcoming game from Cyanide Studios, has a new trailer, showcasing its themes of madness and horror.

Focus Home Interactive is publishing the game, and is responsible for this latest trailer. Check it out below:

As you can glimpse there, it looks like a first-person adventure horror game. The shot where the game’s hero is holding a Zippo for maximum crypt-style lighting is reminiscent of the Metro games. (And also of that little oft-forgotten gem, White Night.)

The official blurb reads:

“1924. Private Investigator Edward Pierce is sent to investigate the tragic death of the Hawkins family in their imposing mansion on the isolated Darkwater Island, off the shores of Boston. Between unfriendly locals and dubious police reports, it becomes clear there’s more to the case than meets the eye. Soon enough, Pierce is plunged into a terrifying world of conspiracies, cultists, and cosmic horrors…”

That sounds suitably delicious, and hopefully the game will play around with your hero’s sanity à la Eternal Darkness.

Call of Cthulhu isn’t the only Lovecraftian horror game on the way either, with The Sinking City due out in 2019.

Call of Cthulhu releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
