Materia Collective confirm the release date for Children of Termina, a new orchestral arrangement of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask soundtrack
Following on from the well received Sins of Hyrule, and Ballads of Hyrule, award-winning arranger and composer, Rozen, is returning to the Zelda series with a new album that reinterprets the music of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
Children of Termina features 17 new orchestral arrangements that update and reimagine original compositions by Koji Kondo, and Toru Minegishi with new motifs, and a haunting production.
The album also features performances from the Sofia Session Orchestra, Julie Elven, and Celica Soldream.
Speaking about the new album, Rozen says:
“For the next installment in my Hyrule series, I wanted to explore the parallel world of Termina and its lore. There’s so much beauty found in darkness and mystery, even at the final moments of one’s existence. I wanted to capture all the feelings in the hearts of the people of Termina when they’re looking up at the falling moon, one last time, before facing extinction: love, solitude, despair, acceptance. It is my wish that you join me in this unsettling but emotional journey in the lands below Hyrule, and feel the same desperate need to heal the world as Link did.”
The album’s first two tracks, The World That Ends in Three Days, and Majora’s Mask can be streamed for free via Bandcamp. They are well worth a listen.
Children of Termina is released on November 30, 2018 and available for pre-order on digital and CD formats, and limited edition vinyl.
