Darksiders III flops into the lower reaches of the UK video games chart, as FIFA 19 holds on to top spot.
The latest GFK Chart Track software top 40 – which tracks physical video game sales in the UK – shows a disappointing debut for THQ Nordic’s Darksiders III. It’s a shame, although not a major surprise, to see Gunfire’s action adventure enter the chart at a lowly No.32.
Launching so soon after Red Dead Redemption 2 – which climbs one place to No. 2 – was probably a contributory factor, as were the game’s lukewarm reviews.
Elsewhere in the chart, FIFA 19 remains at No.1 for a second consecutive week, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 swaps places with Rockstar’s ambitious Western at No. 3.
Nintendo Switch exclusives Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Eevee continue to perform well, although players evidently prefer electric rats to rabbit cats, with the Pikachu edition climbing to No. 7, and poor Eevee a full ten places behind.
Bethesda’s much maligned Fallout 76 falls out of the top 10 to No.11, and another underperforming game – on physical formats at least – Hitman 2, re-enters the chart at No.33.
