After the teasing tweet last week, anonymous sources have spoken to Eurogamer and revealed that Diablo III is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
Last week, the cryptic tweet showed a nightlight being switched on and off, which prompted people to speculate that a Diablo game may well be making its way to the Switch.
But Blizzard was quick to quash the rumours, putting out a statement saying, “We can assure you we’re not that clever. [It was] meant to be a fun community engagement piece. We have nothing to announce.”
Today, Eurogamer has reported that anonymous sources have said that a Diablo game is in production, and that it will be Diablo III.
They then went on to say that these sources didn’t reveal whether the Switch version would contain the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions, but that it makes sense that it would.
Those same sources then said that the social media experiment from last week was an odd decision from the company, given that the reveal for the game is still several months away.
