Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot scores a No. 1 for Bandai Namco in latest UK video games chart, and there’s a resurgence of Nintendo 3DS games.
The latest UK video game chart makes for an interesting read. One surprise is that Bandai Namco’s open-world RPG, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, has taken the top spot. There have been reletively few reviews of the game so far, so its strong performance is a testament to the enduring strength of the Dragon Ball Z brand.
Even more surprising is a slew of Nintendo 3DS games scattered across the Top 40. The wonderful Warioware Gold re-enters the chart at No.5, and Yo-Kai Watch is in at No.9. Elsewhere, there are re-entries for 3DS games including Yokai-Watch 2, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, and even the much-maligned Metroid Prime: Federation Force. According to GI.biz, an Argos sale is to thank.
The rest of the Top 10 has a familiar feel with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare stationed at No.2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order falling two places to No.5, and Grand Theft Auto V climbing two positions to No.4. The Nintendo Switch release of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, debuts just outside the Top Ten at No.11.
