Here’s the complete list of announcements from this week’s Nintendo Direct.
Thursday’s Nintendo Direct led with the announcement of WarioWare Gold for Nintendo 3DS, and finished with Super Smash Bros for Nintendo Switch. Not. Too. Shabby.
The latest release in the long-running WarioWare series features 300 micro-games, many of which use the console’s accelerometer, microphone, and touchscreen. Also coming to Nintendo 3DS is a remaster of the brilliant RPG Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, and a remake of the GameCube launch title, Luigi’s Mansion. What took you so long, Nintendo?
Over on Switch, Capcom’s Okami was finally confirmed for a Summer release, and comes complete with a range of touchscreen and motion-control options. Dark Souls Remastered was also dated for release on May 25, 2018. The game gets its own amiibo, plus an online network test prior to launch.
And as we reported earlier today, Mario Tennis Aces will come to Nintendo Switch in June. It will also get the pre-launch treatment with a free online tournament.
Other highlights include Little Nightmares, the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, and the return of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on both Switch and 3DS. And Super Smash Bros is confirmed for Switch release later this year and will include characters from the Splatoon franchise
