Obsidian Entertainment announce the final major expansion for popular role-playing game, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.
New Microsoft studio, Obsidian Entertainment, has confirmed that The Forgotten Sanctum will be released on December 13, 2018, along with the game’s 4.0 update.
The paid content expansion takes the story to the Deadfire Archipelago, as the Archmages of Eora call upon the Watcher to help with a looming catastrophe. Cue plenty of new quests, a large new dungeon – built into the flesh of a sleeping god, no less – and two new Mega Bosses to defeat.
The Forgotten Sanctum will be priced at $9.99, and is also included as part of the game’s season pass.
The Update 4.0 patch will be released on the same day, and adds new God Challenges, two additional Mega Bosses for Watchers to tackle, and some behind-the-scenes tweaks and updates.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is available now on PC and Mac. As far as we know, the game is still planned for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in the new year.
