Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Square Enix has published a new trailer announcing PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
Originally released as a Nintendo GameCube exclusive in 2003, the game was one of a select number of titles to indulge in Nintendo’s short-lived push for connectivity between the GameCube and GameBoy Advance consoles.
Despite the hurdles involved in getting a four player multiplayer game up and running – multiple link cables, multiple GBAs, and friends who cared – it was a successful venture for Square Enix.
Thankfully, the Remastered Edition will support online multiplayer, and as you can see from the new trailer, the game has also received a bit of a visual makeover.

The Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series saw sequels on the DS and Wii, as well as two rather lovely games that were exclusive to the WiiWare digital service: My Life as a King, and My Life as a Dark Lord. How we’d love to see those make a reappearance.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles – Remastered Edition will be released in Japan in 2019. At the time of writing there is no word of a Western release.
