Forza Horizon 4 technical glitch has users downloading files early

Dark Light

Some players have found an early build of Forza Horizon 4 on the Microsoft Store for PC. They have been able to download files over the weekend.

It was first spotted on Reddit by user daten-shi. Players who had pre-ordered the upcoming Ultimate Edition of Forza Horizon 4 found a 90GB file downloading.

Users were unable to launch the files, and data-miners had a dig around but found the files encrypted.

The official Forza Twitter put out a statement on the mistake:

“Today, some of you noticed Forza Horizon 4 game files preloading on your PCs. This was not intended and you don’t have to do anything. The final game will download automatically when it is released. If you’d like, you can safely uninstall the downloaded files.”

Microsoft unveiled Forza Horizon 4 at this year’s E3. The game takes place in the UK. It features, for the first time in the series, narrative-driven missions. Not just that, but narrative missions that tip their hat to Crazy Taxi.

The game is coming out on October 2nd for PC and Xbox One.
