Pack your driving gloves and an axe, two more games are free to play on Xbox One this weekend.

Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members have two new games to play for free this weekend. It’s all part of Microsoft’s ongoing Free Play Days promotion.

First on the grid is F1 2019 from Codemasters. It’s another reliably solid instalment in a series that improves bit by bit, year on year. The game features every circuit, driver, and teams from the 2019 season, all depicted with staggering attention to detail and graphic fidelity. F1 games can be quite daunting for first-timers, so a free weekend is perfect for giving the series a spin.

Meanwhile, the Chaos hordes are up to their old tricks, and it’s up to you, dear reader, to sort things out in Warhammer: Chaosbane. Eko Software’s game received middling reviews, but if you can round up some friends to play, either online or locally, there’s some Diablo-style fun to be had.

Both games are free to play until midnight on April 19. All progress and achievements earned can be carried over to purchased copies. Speaking of which, here are some timely discounts currently available on the Xbox Digital Games store.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
