Registrations have opened for the 2017 Game Developers Conference (GDC).

The game industry’s leading developer event will once again take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and will run from 27 February to 3 March, 2017.

As usual there will be five days of lectures, panels, tutorials and roundtable discussions on a wide range of game development topics. For the second year running, the Virtual Reality Developers Conference – the popularity of which caused near chaos in 2016 – will take place alongside the main conference on the 27 – 28 February.

GDC 2017 includes a number of new additions to the conference line-up, including a UX Summit which will examine all aspects of user experience in the games industry. There will also be a new retro games area, a board game dev day and film screenings.

Among the returning events are GDC Play, alt.ctrl.GDC, the Indie MEGABOOTH, and Day Of The Devs. The centrepiece of the week remains the annual Game Developers Choice Awards and IGF Awards, the ceremonies being held on Wednesday 1 March, 2017.

Early registration passes, which offer significant discounts, are available now from the GDC website.
