Zelda and PUBG lead Game Developers Choice Awards nominees

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, Cuphead, and PUBG lead the nominees for this year’s Game Developers Choice Awards.

Organisers of the Game Developers Choice Awards have announced this year’s list of nominees. The awards – which will be held during the Game Developers Conference in March – recognise the artistic and technical achievements of video games released in the past 12 months.

Nintendo is nominated in eight categories, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild and Super Mario Odyssey both up for the Game of the Year award. They are joined by PlayerUnknown’s BattlegroundsNier: Automata, and Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn.

Other games receiving nominations include StudioMDHR’s Cuphead, Jason Roberts masterful Gorogoa, Giant Sparrow’s What Remains of Edith Finch, and Destiny 2. The recipients of the Pioneer, Ambassador and Lifetime Achievement awards will be announced shortly.

This year’s awards will be hosted by Robin Hunicke, co-founder of Funomena, and will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on March 21, 2018.
