Xbox Live Gold members can join the Gears 5 Versus Tech Test as part of this weekend’s Xbox Live Free Play Days event.
The Gears 5 Versus Tech Test kicked off last weekend for Xbox Game Pass members (yet another perk) and players who have pre-ordered The Coalition’s upcoming third person shooter. It was pretty successful by most accounts, and it’s now rolling out to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
The tech test includes a variety of game modes, including Escalation, Kind of the Hill, Tour of Duty, Arcade mode, and the new training Bootcamp. It’s available to download to your Xbox game library right now and will go live at 10am PDT/6pm BST.
As this a test, Microsoft is reminding players that there may be some queuing. But as a reward, players who complete at least one match between 5:30 – 6:30 pm PDT will receive the exclusive Wreath Bloodspray.
Gears 5 will be released for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on September 10, 2019, and is available from the Microsoft online store, Amazon, and all other game retailers. It’s also coming to Xbox Game Pass day and date. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members and Ultimate Edition owners also get early access to the game, starting September 6, 2019.
