Organisers of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) confirm that Hideo Kojima will present a session on the making of Death Stranding.

This year’s GDC already has some tantalising sessions lined up, with talks scheduled from Mobius Digital, Respawn, and Rockstar Games, to name just a few. Another rock star – of the self-styled variety – to make the bill is Hideo Kojima, who will speak about the production of Death Stranding, his spiritual successor to Yoshi’s Island.

Titled Death Stranding’s Design Philosophy, the hour-long talk will examine the development of the award-winning game, covering its concept, gameplay mechanics, storytelling, and thematic through-line of connection.

Whatever your opinion of the game – and they certainly vary – the session is sure to be one of the most popular at this year’s conference. Maybe grab a can of Monster Energy to stay refreshed in line.*

GDC 2020 runs from March 16-20 and is once again located at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The event will also be home to the Independent Games Festival and Game Developers Choice Awards, at which Death Stranding is nominated in seven categories.
