Konami has confirmed that the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament DLC for PES 2020 has been delayed due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
Even virtual tournaments aren’t immune to the ongoing effects of COVID-19. Following on from the rescheduling of the real-world UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, Konami has announced that the digital version is following suit.
The DLC for PES 2020 – sorry, eFootball PES 2020 – was originally due for release on April 30. Konami says that following the state of emergency declared in Japan, that date is no longer achievable. When a new release date is set, the update will be available as a free data pack on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
The planned physical edition of the game with new Euro 2020 artwork has also been cancelled.
However, fans should not despair completely. The game’s UEFA Euro 2020 esports tournament, is still going ahead, albeit virtually. The final will take place between May 23 – 24. Head over to the tournament’s official website for more information.
