Ahead of its re-release this week, Square Enix has published a new behind-the-scenes video that explores the making of Nintendo GameCube classic, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
The 20-minute-long video includes insights from producer Akitoshi Kawazu and art director and character designer, Toshiyuki Itahana. The team discuss their inspirations for the original game, and why they hope the remastered edition will find a new audience.
It’s good fun, with some great music. Take a look.
The remastered edition of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android this week. In addition to improved HD visuals and a new soundtrack, the game also includes cross-platform (but not cross-region) multiplayer.
A “Lite” version will also be available that lets players tackle the game’s first three dungeons, or play through 13 dungeons co-op with a player who has purchased the full game.
