Mass Effect Legendary Edition lands at the top of the UK video games chart in its first week, replacing Resident Evil Village.
The remaster of BioWare’s classic science fiction RPG trilogy debuts at No.1 in the latest UK physical video game chart. Mass Effect Legendary Edition knocks last week’s chart-topper – the excellent Resident Evil Village – down to No.2.
Swinging into third place is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which appears to have received a boost from some limited discounts and an increase in PS5 console sales.
The most eye-catching new entry is a No.5 bow for Subnautica: Below Zero, the highly anticipated aquatic survival adventure from Unknown Worlds. A double pack featuring the first game also squeaks into the chart at No. 38.
Meanwhile, the entire back half of the Top Ten is populated by Nintendo Switch games. Say hello again to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Pokémon Snap, etc.
In the outer reaches of the chart, there’s a re-entry for Xbox exclusive State of Decay 2 at No.19, and the marvellous Returnal slips from No.15 to No.26.
