Racing sim MotoGP 22 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.

Motorcycle racing may not be the most high-profile sport but developer Milestone has given the franchise the attention it deserves for several years. MotoGP 22 looks like being the best yet.

The game is out today on all platforms and comes with the usual array of career modes and officially licenced content. For the first time, the series also adds two-player local split-screen, plus various online multiplayer modes and cross-play on consoles of the same family.

Most intriguing is a new game mode that recreates one of the most iconic seasons in recent racing history. The NINE Season 2009 game mode replicates all 17 races of the season, split into chapters containing more than 39 challenges. It’s accompanied by a new documentary that blends gameplay with archival footage and is narrated by filmmaker Mark Neal.

The MotoGP Academy also helps newcomers learn the basics of an often daunting sport.

Take a look at the game in action in the MotoGP 22 launch trailer.
