Detective puzzle game Murder by Numbers will test your powers of deduction on Nintendo Switch and PC next month.

If you’re a fan of Picross games – or nonograms in general – clear some time in your calendar. Mediatonic’s new puzzle detective game, Murder by Numbers, is released on PC and Switch next month, coming to the Nintendo eShop on March 5 and Steam on March 6.

The game blends head-scratching nonogram puzzles with a campy warm hug of a whodunnit from writer Ed Fear (Swords of Ditto and Heavenstrike). It also features characters designed by Hato Moa (Hatoful Boyfriend) and music from composer Masakazu Sugimori (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick).

Set in 1996, the story follows the story of TV detective Honor Mizrahi who becomes suspected of a real-life crime. As the press release says, players can look forward to extreme levels of sass, cargo pants, and chunky highlights. Sounds good to us.

In the meantime, get to know Honor and the rest of the Murder By Numbers cast in the game’s new animated intro.

Murder by Numbers is priced at $14.99/€12.49/£11.99. Pre-orders on the Nintendo eShop open on February 20 and include a 10% discount available until March 11. The Steam version is discounted by 10% from March 6-12, 2020.
