Here’s our roundup of this week’s new video game releases for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

There’s a decent lineup of new video games coming to console this week, with something to look forward to on every platform.

A44’s Ashen finally arrives on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 this week, bringing with it a year of updates and improvements. If you’ve already finished all of 2019’s big games, this ambitious and inventive RPG should keep you busy throughout the holiday season.

Switch owners can also look forward to a port of Techland’s glorious Western FPS, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, a new instalment of Football Manager Touch, and the final two Shovel Knight expansions.

Xbox One and PS4 players can enjoy EDM rhythm-action game Avicii Invector and newsroom satire, Headliner: Novinews. North American gamers also have a belated opportunity to experience the thrills and spills of Terminator: Resistance.*

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
