Splatoon 3 and NBA 2K23 headline this week’s lineup of new video games.
Is it too soon for Splatoon 3? That seems to be the view of many Nintendo fans despite the five-year gap between entries. The game’s changes are subtle at first glance, it’s true, but from what we’ve played, online play is improved, there’s an extra level of polish, and the new maps all look fantastic.
NBA 2K23 also comes with a host of upgrades. Enhancements to offensive play are welcome, and the new adrenaline boost system promises to add a strategic element to matches. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can also look forward to physics-based simulated rim hangs.
This week’s other new video games include life-sim adventure Disney Dreamlight Valley, Circus Electrique, and an updated version of The Tomorrow Children on PS4 and PS5.
