Dark Light

Here’s your weekly round-up of Nintendo eShop game releases for the Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U.

It wasn’t long ago that these Nintendo eShop updates were pretty threadbare posts. However, with the Switch a surefire hit – and the 3DS refusing to go quietly – there’s always something cool to look forward to. This week’s lineup is no exception.

This week’s big release is probably Pokkén Tournament DX, the tweaked remake of Bandai Namco’s 2015 fighter. We’re not the game’s biggest fans, but it will no doubt find a sizeable audience, and will hopefully do well enough to pave the way for a few more Wii U reissues.

Also coming to Switch is Image & Form’s dig ’em up follow-up, Steamworld Dig 2. The first game was a real treat and we’re hopeful that its sequel builds on its ground-breaking mechanics.

Ron Gilbert’s charming point-and-click adventure, Thimbleweed Park, also makes its Switch bow.

On the Nintendo 3DS, it’s time for another stroll down memory lane with the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Gold and Silver.

Here’s the full eShop lineup.
