Overcooked, Miitopia, and Hey! Pikmin lead this week’s Nintendo eShop releases for Nintendo Switch, Wii U and 3DS.
Whatever happened to the summer slump? We don’t think Nintendo got the memo as this week sees a bumper lineup of games released on both the Nintendo Switch and 3DS.
Over on Switch we have the welcome release of Overcooked: Special Edition, from Ghost Town Games. The fact that the game is fantastic is no secret, so it will interesting to see if the Switch specific additions – including HD rumble support – make the game worth a doubt dip. We expect they will.
Also coming Switch is Namco Museum, a decent compilation of classic retro games, including Pac-Man, Galaga, Splatterhouse, Skykid, and the Gamecube’s Pac-Man Vs.
This week also sees the release of the New Nintendo 2DS XL console, and to mark the occasion, Nintendo has marshalled a solid lineup of new games.
Our recommendation is Miitopia, which – based on our time with the demo – is a light but throughly charming RPG with a wonderful sense of humour, and sumptuous production values. It’s joined by Hey! Pikmin, and Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused?
Here is the full list this week’s eShop releases. We’ll add full EU pricing details as soon as we get them.
